Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account: email address, name (optional), time zone and a hashed password.
• Subscription: plan, status and renewal date. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store full card numbers.
• Preferences: alert rules and email settings.
• Technical: server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) kept for security and troubleshooting.

2. What we don't do

We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or rent personal data. The only cookie is a session cookie that keeps you logged in.

3. How we use it

• To run your account and deliver the Service you pay for (contract).
• To send the Wednesday brief, alerts and account emails you choose (contract, consent for optional emails).
• To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
• To meet tax and accounting duties (legal obligation).

4. Who processes it for us

• Hosting: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Email delivery: Resend
• Payments: Stripe

Each processes data only on our instructions. Some may store data outside your country under standard contractual safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of closing it. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 31 days. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict its use, by writing to office@atolresearch.com or deleting your account from Account. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Brazil's LGPD), you may also complain to your data-protection authority.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed, connections use TLS, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you of a breach affecting your data as the law requires.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18.

9. Changes

We will post updates here and email account holders about material changes.
